Engineered with the "Integrated Safety" concept and 100% tested via the automated RoboMAG production line, IKA’s new stirrers set a new global standard for laboratory protection.
The Legacy of IKA
IKA launched its first generation of magnetic stirrers in 1952. It has been a global bestseller since. Every new launch brings unique characteristics. We aim to improve the lab workflow and precision. It enhances safety and performance.
Scientific breakthroughs and a smooth production flow are made possible with a trustworthy equipment partner. IKA operates globally, delivering lab equipment and services that meet international standards.
The "Integrated Safety" Concept
The latest generation will come with our “Integrated Safety” features. It complies with DIN IEC EN 61010-1, DIN IEC EN 61010-2-010, DIN EN IEC 61010-2-051, DIN IEC EN 61326-1, and holds CE marking and NRTL (TÜV SÜD) certification.
The “Integrated Safety” concept is multidirectional. It aims not only to protect the samples but also the user and the lab.
Key features include:
Adjustable independent safety circuit. Designed to help prevent overheating, the adjustable independent safety circuit protects the sample, user, and laboratory environment. It operates independently of other control systems and is designed to function even in a single-fault condition.
Locking function. You can lock in the speed and temperature settings. It prevents accidental changes that can damage the samples.
RoboMAG Production. 100% tested. The fully automated RoboMAG production line ensures 100% testing and supports long service life.
Hot plate warning. Our “Hot Plate Warning” feature produces a warning if the plate temperature reaches above 50°C. It remains activated even when the device is switched off. It eliminates accidental overheating.
Continuous stirring in case of error. In addition, the magnetic stirrer will continue its operation even when it runs into an error or a safety shutdown. It protects your sample integrity, significantly enhancing reliability.
Self-monitoring. The model will automatically self-monitor all safety components, leaving fewer chances for human mistakes.
Digitalization & Connectivity
The two new models, the RCT basic and RET basic, are packed with connectivity enhancements.
The RCT & RET basic can be controlled through a USB-C or RS232 interface via software. This enables software-based control and integration into digital lab workflows.
Furthermore, the RET basic model can be controlled through Wi-Fi or Ethernet, allowing users to connect wirelessly and manage data, software, and lab systems in one place.
The IKA Lab Assistant App allows convenient monitoring across devices (available for RET basic or RCT basic with the USB.WD dongle). Users can store and access data through cloud integration (RET basic only).
Efficiency & Ergonomics
Despite being the smallest footprint on the market, the model can fit standard 200x200mm lifting platforms. It provides more space for your benchtop to work with.
The new design offers 800W of heating power. The rapid heat-up speeds up the process for large sample sizes. It also delivers stirring speeds of up to 1700 rpm, depending on the model, mixing all your samples evenly and consistently.
If you need to adjust the heating rates for accurate temperature control, there are four steps to maximize flexibility. You can control the heating process for gradual reaction setups. Together with the 14-segment LED display, you can adjust advanced settings easily. There is no need for complex key combinations anymore.
Besides, the brushless EC motor delivers a maintenance-free setup. It is precision, innovation, and durability packed in one device.
